Nathan’s Story – Creating Lasting Memories

Nathan’s parents struggled during this challenging time as they coped with their child’s diagnosis. They were looking for ways to create lasting memories together as a family – moments filled with joy that they would always remember. Our MJHS Social Worker knew the perfect activity… making a hand mold of the five of them, so they could have it forever.

Knowing the family had limited resources, the MJHS Social Workers applied to the donor-supported MJHS Patient Care Fund to help make this happen.

Nathan and his family had a fun afternoon together as they used the kit. The five of them giggled together as our social worker showed them how to dip their hands in the clay. It was quite a challenge to keep everyone in the family still while the clay hardened. In the end, the clay perfectly captured all of their hands together.

Creating a legacy project, just like Nathan’s family’s hand cast, is a special way that families can build positive memories together during a difficult time and have a treasured keepsake they will cherish forever. Moments like this would not be possible without the generous support of our donors.

Please consider making a gift today so that we can continue to provide our MJHS Patient Care Fund to all families in need. The fund is supported 100% by donors like you. It is available for patients who are facing an emergency, need supplies related to their diagnosis, or need assistance paying for an item or bill that would enhance their quality of life that they could not otherwise afford.
