Remembering. Reflecting. Giving Back
Honor your loved one through Jewish memorial prayers and by supporting end-of-life care programs that bring comfort and dignity to others. Jewish mourning rituals provide structure and comfort during times of loss. They help with grieving and honoring those who have passed.
You can honor a loved one through a Jewish Memorial Prayer in the following ways:
- Gift of Remembrance: For a gift of $36, we will honor the anniversary of your loved one’s passing with a gift to the MJHS Foundation. A gift of any amount ensures your annual notification of the upcoming Yahrzeit.
- Yizkor on Yom Kippur: For a $100 gift, Kaddish will be recited for your loved one during the Yizkor service on the Day of Atonement.
- Yahrzeit Prayers: For a gift of $180, prayers of mourning, including Kaddish and Psalm 23, will be recited on the Yahrzeit of your loved one’s passing.
- Yizkor and Yahrzeit Services: For a gift of $360, prayers will be offered during Yizkor services throughout the year in memory of your loved one. These services occur during Pesach, Shavuot, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot. Prayers of mourning, including Kaddish and Psalm 23, will be recited on the Yahrzeit of your loved one’s passing.
- Kaddish Recitation, Yizkor and Yahrzeit: For a gift of $1,000, a MJHS rabbi will recite daily Kaddish prayers for 11 months in memory of your loved one. During Yizkor services, which occur during Pesach, Shavuot, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, a memorial prayer will be offered in memory of your loved one. Prayers of mourning, including Kaddish and Psalm 23, will be recited on the Yahrzeit of your loved one’s passing.
