Ways to Honor Your Loved One
In keeping with the mission of MJHS to care for people of all faiths and backgrounds, a Catholic priest may remember your loved one through personal prayer and privately celebrated Masses. These remembrances are spiritual in nature and available to all in need.
What these prayer remembrances offer:
- A personal prayer of remembrance: Each prayer remembrance is an intentional act of honoring your loved one by name during privately celebrated Masses. These prayers are offered with care and reverence, asking for peace, mercy, and eternal rest, while also bringing comfort to those who mourn.
- Remembrance within the Church’s tradition: Your loved one is remembered during sacred prayer over a designated period—whether one day or several—reflecting the Catholic belief in the power of continued prayer for the deceased.
- Inclusion in All Souls’ Day prayers: All Souls’ Day is a special Catholic observance dedicated to remembering and praying for those who have passed. Being remembered on this day connects your loved one to a broader community of prayer, honoring all souls and affirming the enduring bond between the living and the departed.
