Filling the Gaps in Caregiving Support
Established in 2017, the Jerry Gold Memorial Fund was created in memory of Jerry Gold to support family caregivers caring for loved ones receiving MJHS Hospice support.
As part of the MJHS Golden Family (STAR) Fund, it covers the cost of additional Home Health Aide (HHA) hours that insurance does not provide— helping fill gaps in care during the end‑of‑life journey.
The fund was inspired by the growing challenges caregivers face as illness progresses and care needs intensify. Insurance typically offers only a limited number of HHA hours, and the high cost of private care puts essential support out of reach for many families. The Jerry Gold Memorial Fund ensures that patients are not left without care, and caregivers are not left without help.
Since its inception, the fund has provided an extraordinary 5,120 hours of HHA support to families in need. These additional hours ease the physical, emotional and financial strain caregivers often experience, allowing them to focus on being present with their loved one rather than worrying about who will provide care.
By supporting this fund, donors honor Jerry Gold’s memory while helping sustain compassionate hospice care and meaningful caregiver support for families who need it most.
This is just one of the families recently helped, and there are hundreds more. Please join me in honoring Jerry’s memory with a gift to the Jerry Gold Memorial Fund today. Every $30 you donate supplies an additional hour of HHA support to a family caregiver in need.
