2022 Wine Tasting in Support of Caregivers

The world’s third largest wine-producing country (after Italy & France) has nearly 70 distinct production areas over its seven major regions. We will offer classic examples of some of Spain’s finest reds, whites and a sparkling cava.
Our Wine Tasting event is dedicated to raising funds to support the Golden Family STAR program which provides additional home health aide hours to families in need.
Rising Star: $175 — registration for one participant
Super Star: $350 — registration for one participant plus a listing in the evening program
Rock Star: $500 — registration for one participant, a listing in the evening program plus a bottle of wine to take home
Shooting Star: $750 — registration for two participants, a listing in the evening program and two bottles of wine to take home (one per attendee)
Mike Esposito
With over 40 years of experience in the wine and spirits industry, Michael Esposito joined Golden Ram Imports as Vice President of Sales in 2018.
Through his years working with both Importing and Distributing fine wine and spirits, Michael has been fortunate to travel through numerous countries and across different continents.
With some several hundred wineries and vineyards visited during these years, and winery family relationships built, his experiences within the world of wine continue to grow.
Nathan Semler
Raised in Barcelona by American parents, Nathan grew up in a family driven by an obsessive interest in food and wine. After completing music studies at the New School, he has been working in the hospitality and wine industries in NYC for over 20 years, and has become a passionate expert in not only Spanish wines, but in wines from around the globe.
He approaches the world of wine with a deep curiosity for its history, its evolution and the authentic expression of a sense of place. In his ‘down time’ he is the father of three, an avid cook and a lover of music in all its forms.

- Bodegas y Viñedos Tobelos, Crianza, DO Rioja 2016: From the heart of the Rioja region in Northern Spain. This 100% Tempranillo red wine is bright, fresh, and fruitful.
- Convento San Francisco, Roble, DO Ribera del Duero 2019: This brilliant Tempranillo red is produced in the heart of the Duero valley in Northwest Spain. Aromatic, well-balanced, with a beautifully persistent finish.
- Convento San Francisco, Crianza, DO Ribera del Duero 2017: This rich red is produced from 100% Old Vine Tempranillo. Structured, rich and profound.
- R. López de Heredia, ‘Viña Tondonia’, DO Rioja 1970: One of the most iconic wines of Spain, from an estate that has been family owned and operated since the 1870s. Complex, super aromatic and vibrant red wine.
- Ribera del Duero
A gem of a winery, housed in a 13th Century convent in the heart of the Ribera del Duero. The estate is made up of over 60 plots of ancient vines dating back to 1915. Rustic and polished all at once, this is a wine rooted in tradition and authenticity.

Corpinnat is a new classification reserved for the highest quality of Cava producers. Growers must farm organically, all grapes must be hand-harvested and the wines must be made and aged in the heart of the Penedes region. Gramona is currently under the stewardship of its 5th generation of wine-growers and quietly churns out some of the very best Cava in the region, rivaling the finest sparkling wines of the world.
